What does Tracy do in session?

In my therapeutic practice, I will walk you in your discovery of finding your inner resources. I believe that inner growth can occur through exploration. I facilitate this growth by using a client-centred approach to talk therapy, also known as person-centered therapy. This is a collaborative approach between the client(s) and the therapist, in which the client has an opportunity to develop their sense of self. As this opportunity develops they often realize how their thoughts, feelings, attitudes and behaviours, can be affected and altered.

How does Tracy do this?
In this process of self-discovery, I work with your unique experiences using a safe and non-judgemental approach. I fully believe that resolutions to life's stressful events and life's challenges reside within each of us. I integrate a range of interventions and techniques determined by your set of goals, individual needs, and particular personality style. Primarily I use a humanistic and existential approaches and incorporate techniques for mindfulness relaxation, if the need arises  (e.g., anxiety). I also use cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and solution-focused interventions when needed. I introduce my clients to specific tools to enhance their movement towards greater well-being and a happier, more fulfilled, life.
